A vote held by the IFA 7 directors committee via a zoom meeting on Wednesday afternoon has a major positive impact on the 2021 World Clubs Championship.
The city has won the bid to host the World Clubs Championships in 2021, which includes Senior, Women’s and Junior championships.
The Organization #RescatemosSolidaridad of Playa del Carmen, in the Mexican Riviera submitted the bid to host the world class event.
It is the largest World Clubs Championship event in the world and ever held by IFA 7.
Delegates at the IFA 7 Committee Congress voted overwhelmingly in support of the bid.
“This is a great day for Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya” said Carlos Mimenza, vice-president of Rescatemos Solidaridad, organization behind making the Championship possible in that city.
“I am very excited that today the IFA 7 Committee voted in support of the decision of hosting the Championship in Playa del Carmen Mexico, a city most suitable candidate to host the World Clubs Championships in April 2021. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the team that has prepared the proposal, especially their vice-president Carlos Mimenza,” said IFA7 president Balcorta.
Now all is left is to await for the last clubs, which will be competing between now and March 2021, as it is permitted in each country by the authorities.
The World Clubs Championship will host 16+ Clubs from around the world, in a tournament that will go from April 20 to the 25th, 2021.
