The Mexican 7-a-side football team was crowned this Sunday in Alicante, Spain, as the Champion of the Nations Cup by defeating its counterpart from Paraguay in a shootout 2-0, after tying 3-3 in regular time.
This championship gives them the opportunity to participate now in the World Cup, to be held in the second half of the year in a place and venue to be defined.
Those led by the Doctor and Technical Director of the Mexican National Team Walterio Martínez, previously beat Spain 5-4, Paraguay 5-3 and Ukraine 13-0, which consolidates the good progress of the Mexican team.
The Mexican team was crowned for the first time as Champions of America in Seven-a-side Football, in December 2023.
