On 7 December 2018, the International Football Association (IFA7) and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) entered into a formal trademark coexistence agreement.
By entering into the agreement, FIFA and IFA7 acknowledged one another as distinct contracting parties in relation to the trademark matters it covers. They established a contractual framework for the coexistence of their respective marks, subject to the agreement’s terms.
This agreement is part of IFA7’s documented intellectual-property history and provides a formal basis for its relationship with FIFA on the trademark matters addressed in the agreement. IFA7 operates independently and organizes its competitions under its own name and authority.
The agreement concerns trademarks. It does not make IFA7 a FIFA member, affiliate or representative, and it should not be presented as FIFA’s sporting approval or sanction of IFA7 competitions. This public summary does not reproduce or expand the agreement’s terms.
