IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™

The Continental Championship for Football 7 National Teams

The IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™ is the official continental Football 7 championship for national teams from the Americas.

Organized under the authority of the International Football Association (IFA7), the competition brings together eligible national teams from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The championship provides participating nations with an elite international platform and the opportunity to compete for the title of IFA7 Copa América champion.

A Championship for the Americas

The IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™ was created to strengthen Football 7 throughout the American continent and provide a structured pathway between national development and global IFA7 competition.

The event brings together:

• National teams from IFA7 member associations

• Elite Football 7 players

• International referees and officials

• Host cities and sporting institutions

• Broadcasters and media partners

• Sponsors and commercial organizations

• Supporters from across the Americas

Each edition is conducted under IFA7’s official sporting, administrative and commercial regulations.

Copa América Champions

2016 — Peru

The inaugural IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™ was held in San José, Costa Rica.

Peru won the competition and became the first continental champion in IFA7 Copa América history.

2018 — Ecuador

The second edition was held in Quito, Ecuador.

Ecuador won the championship on home soil and became the second nation to lift the Copa América trophy.

2023 — Mexico

Mexico won the 2023 IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™ and joined Peru and Ecuador among the competition’s continental champions.

Copa América Brazil 2027

Brazil is scheduled to host the next edition of the IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™ in 2027.

The competition will bring together eligible national teams from across the Americas for a major international Football 7 event.

Additional information regarding the host city, dates, participating nations, competition format, broadcast arrangements and official registration process will be released through IFA7’s authorized communication channels.

Competition Format

The final format is determined according to the number of participating national teams and the requirements of the host edition.

The competition may include:

• Group-stage matches

• Classification or knockout rounds

• Semifinals

• Third-place match

• Championship final

• Individual and team awards

All participating delegations must satisfy IFA7’s institutional, sporting, administrative and financial requirements.

Eligibility and Participation

Participation is available to national teams representing authorized IFA7 member associations and other delegations specifically approved by IFA7.

National organizations interested in participating must complete the official application and approval process.

Eligibility may require:

• Current IFA7 authorization

• Confirmation of national representation

• Compliance with competition regulations

• Payment of applicable participation fees

• Official roster and delegation documentation

• Travel, visa and insurance compliance

• Acceptance of commercial and media obligations

No organization may independently announce participation or represent itself as an official IFA7 national team without written confirmation from IFA7.

Hosting Copa América

Countries and cities interested in hosting a future edition must submit an official hosting proposal to IFA7.

Potential hosts are evaluated according to:

• Accommodation and transportation

• Governmental and institutional support

• Event-management capacity

• Security and medical planning

• Broadcast production

• Marketing and commercial development

• International delegation services

• Financial guarantees

• Compliance with IFA7 hosting requirements

Hosting rights are granted exclusively through a formal written agreement with IFA7.
