Protecting IFA7’s Identity, Independence and Global Operations
The International Football Association (IFA7) is an independent international organization dedicated to the organization, regulation, promotion and development of Football 7 competitions and activities.
IFA7 operates through its own governance structure, regulations, member associations, licensed competitions and international development programs.
The organization protects its institutional identity, intellectual property and competition brands through registrations, contractual agreements and other legal measures in the jurisdictions where it operates.
FIFA–IFA7 Trademark Coexistence Agreement
In December 2018, IFA7 and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) entered into a formal trademark coexistence agreement.
The agreement established a contractual framework governing the coexistence and use of the parties’ respective names, trademarks and visual identities. It was designed to distinguish the organizations and reduce the possibility of confusion between their respective brands and activities.
IFA7 subsequently implemented the applicable brand and visual-identity measures associated with that framework.
The agreement concerns trademark coexistence and intellectual-property matters. It does not make IFA7 a member, affiliate, subsidiary or representative of FIFA, and it should not be interpreted as sporting recognition, authorization or institutional affiliation by FIFA.
IFA7 remains an independent organization responsible for its own governance, competitions, membership, regulations and international operations.
Independent International Operations
IFA7 organizes and authorizes Football 7 competitions through its own institutional and sporting framework.
Its activities include:
- International competitions for national teams
- International club competitions
- Continental and regional championships
- Women’s Football 7 competitions
- Youth and development programs
- National and regional leagues
- Referee, coach and administrator development
- Licensing and authorization of official IFA7 events
- Support and supervision of member associations
All official IFA7 competitions, appointments, affiliations, authorizations and licenses must be issued or confirmed through IFA7’s authorized institutional channels.
No individual or organization may represent itself as an official IFA7 member, representative, competition organizer or rights holder without current written authorization from IFA7.
Intellectual Property and Competition Brands
IFA7 owns and administers intellectual-property rights connected to its identity, operations and official competitions.
These rights may include registered or protected names, trademarks, logos, competition identities, audiovisual materials, regulations, publications and other proprietary content.
IFA7’s official competition portfolio includes international properties such as:
- IFA7 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™
- IFA7 NATIONS CUP™
- IFA7 COPA AMÉRICA™
- IFA7 WORLD CLUBS CHAMPIONSHIP™
- IFA7 SUPER CUP™
- IFA7 INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE™
- Other officially authorized IFA7 competitions and development programs
The use of IFA7’s name, logo, competition brands or other protected materials requires prior written authorization.
Official Membership and Authorization
IFA7 works with national, regional and local organizations through formal affiliation, licensing or development agreements.
An organization is considered an official IFA7 member or authorized representative only when it holds valid written authorization and remains compliant with its contractual, administrative and financial obligations.
The appearance of an organization, competition or individual on social media, promotional material or an unaffiliated website does not by itself establish official IFA7 status.
Governments, sponsors, broadcasters, clubs, athletes and other stakeholders are encouraged to verify the status of any person or organization claiming to represent IFA7 before entering into an agreement, making a payment or participating in an event.
Official status may be verified directly with IFA7 through its authorized headquarters and official communication channels.
Brand Protection and Enforcement
IFA7 actively protects its institutional identity, members, competitions, commercial partners and participants from unauthorized representation, misleading claims and improper use of its intellectual property.
Where necessary, IFA7 may take administrative, contractual or legal action concerning:
- Unauthorized use of IFA7 trademarks or logos
- False claims of membership, appointment or representation
- Unlicensed competitions presented as official IFA7 events
- Misleading commercial or sponsorship representations
- Unauthorized registration or use of confusing domain names
- Misuse of official documents, certificates or competition materials
- Conduct that creates confusion regarding IFA7’s institutional identity
These measures are intended to preserve confidence in the organization and ensure that official IFA7 activities are conducted through properly authorized structures.
Institutional Transparency
IFA7 is committed to maintaining a professional international structure based on clear authorization, documented responsibilities and accountable administration.
Official governance documents, sporting regulations and institutional information are made available through IFA7’s official website or directly to authorized members and stakeholders, where appropriate.
Certain contracts, legal instruments and institutional communications may remain confidential because of contractual, legal, privacy or intellectual-property obligations.
Verification and Contact
Questions concerning IFA7 membership, competition authorization, intellectual property or institutional representation should be directed to IFA7 through its official website.
