The International Football Association (IFA7) has become aware of false and misleading communications being circulated to certain international affiliates and partners regarding IFA7, its intellectual-property rights, and a recent WIPO domain-name proceeding.
In the interest of transparency, IFA7 wishes to clarify the record.
IFA7’s Intellectual-Property Rights
IFA7’s intellectual-property position is supported by independently verifiable registrations and documented legal instruments, including:
- FIF7 — Costa Rica Trademark Registration No. 302741
- IFA7® — Canadian Trademark Registration TMA1141666
- Canadian Copyright Registration No. 1188141
- Canadian Copyright Registration No. 1188232
- FIFA–IFA7 Trademark Coexistence Agreement — executed 7 December 2018
These rights and instruments exist independently from the ownership or disposition of any Internet domain name.

Clarification Regarding the Recent WIPO Proceeding
The recently referenced WIPO proceeding concerned Internet domain names under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
It was not a trademark-ownership proceeding.
The proceeding did not cancel, transfer or invalidate IFA7’s registered trademarks, copyrights or other intellectual-property rights.
Accordingly, statements portraying that domain-name decision as a determination that another party owns IFA7’s registered intellectual property mischaracterize the nature and legal scope of the proceeding.
A domain name dispute and ownership of a registered trademark are separate legal matters and should not be confused.
Legal Proceedings and Enforcement
Based upon corporate and legal due diligence conducted across the relevant jurisdictions, IFA7 has found no evidence establishing the purported organization operating under the name “FIF7” as a separately constituted legal entity.
IFA7 has already initiated formal proceedings concerning individuals involved in these matters, including proceedings in Mexico, and additional legal remedies in other jurisdictions are being pursued or evaluated where appropriate.

Preservation of Evidence
IFA7 is preserving false allegations currently being circulated to its affiliates and partners, together with sender information, recipients, dates, transmission records and related communications, as evidence for formal legal proceedings.
Any attempt to disseminate false information, misrepresent legal decisions, misuse IFA7’s intellectual property, or intentionally interfere with IFA7’s affiliates, competitions, partners or international relationships will be documented and may be incorporated into existing or future proceedings.
IFA7 will not engage in personal attacks or unsupported public accusations.
Our response will continue to be through documented evidence, registered rights and formal proceedings before the competent legal authorities.
IFA7 remains fully focused on the development of Football 7 internationally and on protecting the organizations, partners and individuals working within its international structure.
